M is for Magnificent

mag·nif·i·cent
maɡˈnifəsənt/
adjective
  1. impressively beautiful, elaborate, or extravagant; striking
  2. very good, excellent

The Grand Canyon is magnificent.  Nebulas in the skies are magnificent.  The ocean is magnificent, as is the earth. I often look for magnificence in large external expressions, but I overlook the magnificence around me in the many subtle forms.

I have seen beauty, everyday.  Beauty in the way children have hope and interest in living, in their eyes, in their voices, perhaps this is magnificence too. On a closer scale.  Magnificence is expressed in the complexities of our material world.

The wonderful coordination of the systems that make all of the organisms in their various forms from humans to ants is truly magnificent.  In my rush to enter our social world, I sometimes observe some cat neighbors.  They watch me and I watch them, then I leave and even forget about them until I see them again.  Yet they have their daily lives to live as do I.  I have seen magnificence in the beautiful colors of nature.  I have seen magnificence in the ability to change and bring into our lives the objects of our affections.  I have seen magnificence in the ability to be creative.

The biodiversity of our world is magnificent. Sometimes our own creations are magnificient! Here is one example of this thing floating on the water.... magnificent!

But mostly the magnificence of the sentient being that is all of us in all.  The ability to remain allusive although remaining the supreme amazing creator of all and there is no throne anywhere to be found for paying homage or praise.  The elusive creator is beyond adoration, appreciation, recognition for without the consciousness of this great eternal and omniscient being nothing would exist!  Still with all of this evidence of life swirling and whirling around us at all times… there seems to be no finding the creator!  That is magnificent!

Be well and be happy!
