F is for Fulfillment

F is for Fulfillment

ful·fill·ment
fo͝olˈfilmənt/
noun
  1. satisfaction or happiness as a result of fully developing one's abilities or character.
  1. the achievement of something desired, promised, or predicted.

I was thinking about identifying words that described the presence of God.  So while Faith is the first word that keeps popping into my mind, Fulfillment more accurately describes God’s presence for me. There are times when I am somewhat distracted by the conditions or the environment around me. Those are the times when I need faith to tide me over until I can get to the fulfillment experience.

That fulfillment is satisfaction, wanting no more, worrying no more, stable, peaceful, completed.  The achievement of something desired. We want, but sometimes we don’t know what we want.  We just feel incomplete or a lack of something.  So off we go searching!  “Looking for love (God really) in all the wrong places.”

That feeling of being incomplete is really our “separation” from feeling God’s presence.  God is always present because everything is composed from the fabric of his being.  I believe absolutely, that there is nothing but God in all of his myriad forms and expressions. Some of those expressions are terrible indeed! Never the less, these expressions are the displays of his creativity.  I really need to find a better word than “he” because gender is a limiting description. The soul of everything cannot have one half of the gender equation!

I talk about this be-ing a lot because it is so relaxing.  Going here and there, walking to and from, talking all day, all the time to anyone who will listen, all these activities are distractions!  And from what? the calming presence of God, the creator, the soul of everything!  But then that is what Earth World is all about!  The difference between a theme park and the Earth World is we call distractions “attractions.”

With the feeling of the presence of God comes a fulfillment, a wanting no more, a satisfaction. No need to get up, no need to move, no need to speak, no need to see, no need to hear. Just be-ing. So the wisdom Be Still and know that I AM God becomes a fulfillment and an experience.  The happiness is in the calm of it. Just imagining that state is a comfort.

Be well, Be happy…. and be fulfilled today!
